How do I waterproof my house?

How do I waterproof my house?

  • Starting with the roof
  • Before painting your roof ensure that your roof is water tight:
  • Chimney flashing is sound and sealed
  • Ridge capping is filled with cement where needed and sealed with fibrerite
  • Roof vents or sky lights are sealed
  • Valleys are cleaned
  • Broken tiles are repaired
  • Roof is cleaned
  • It is advisable to get a professional to paint and waterproof your roof

  • Tip: Clean your gutters.  Gutters collect water running from your roof, allowing runoff into a drain instead. It’s important to keep your gutters clean from leaves and debris, especially as summer approaches.
  • Tricks: Ceiling blemishes caused by roof leaks can be repaired by painting road marking paint over these blemishes ad then cover with Midek Paint Ceiling paint
